Hi, I'm Nathan!
I’m excited to share my journey through the Cloud Resume Challenge. This challenge is an incredible opportunity to build a static website hosted entirely in the AWS cloud.
The Start of the Journey
Creating the basic website was fairly straightforward and took about a week. I poured time into perfecting the design, exploring color palettes, and refining CSS styles. But soon, I realized that the challenge wasn’t just about creating a website—it was about understanding and applying a full-stack development mindset.
The Real Challenge
This project transformed into a deep dive into cloud technologies and full-stack development. Here’s what it involved:
- Architecting and deploying solutions in AWS environments.
- Working with APIs, JSON, Python, and JavaScript.
- Using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Implementing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub and GitHub Actions.
For someone relatively new to cloud development, this experience was a steep but rewarding learning curve. It reshaped my understanding of infrastructure, automation, and development best practices.
Why Take on This Challenge?
Completing the Cloud Resume Challenge has been one of the most transformative steps in my career. It provided hands-on experience that directly contributed to earning my AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification.
The challenge pushed me out of my comfort zone, forcing me to tackle real-world problems and learn critical skills in cloud infrastructure and development pipelines. It’s a fantastic way to prepare for cloud certification and practical, on-the-job challenges.
Final Thoughts
Thanks for visiting my blog! If you’re looking to elevate your skills and explore cloud development, I highly recommend this challenge. It’s a tough but incredibly rewarding journey.
All the best,
Nathan Restrepo
